나는 백자가 가지고 있는 순백색과 간결한 기형을 바탕으로 빠르게 성형하는 물레위에서의 작업과 느리게 깎아내는 면치기를 통하여 ‘새로운 흔적’을 찾는다. 이 과정을 통해 순백의 백토를 조심스레 들추며 숨겨져 있던 청색연리의 흔적을 찾아간다. 이 흔적들은 우연의 산물처럼 보이지만, 마치 우리가 공동체 안에서 지켜야 할 것을 지키며 살아가듯, 미리 정해진 공간과 규칙 안에서 자유롭게 움직이며, 서로 조화를 이룬다.

  I find new vestige in porcelain has marbled pattern. My work is created in two ways: with conflicting temporal attributes. One is fast-paced wheel throwing and the other is time consuming cut clay’s sides. Surface that Smooth and perfectly polished off a long time have a distinctive pattern.  

  Vestige’s appearance is abstract, and sometimes dreamlike. Each side looks Similar, but has different looks. If you go round ceramic vessel, along the Vestige appear in each side, you can find a new story they made together.

  Each person creates a similar but different story, as each side is similar, but having different pattern. Porcelain is not wearing out and porcelain’s color does not change even after a long time. Vestige with abstract patterns alive longer than I, and will be given a new meaning in different personal, generations and society.
